Membership

For people working on AI safety or governance.

Rates

We confirm trial days within two working days and reply to membership applications within a few days.

Sponsored seat. When an organization pays for your seat or wants an invoice: CA$45 a day or CA$450 a month. If you pay yourself, even from your own grant or salary, the prices above apply.

Community rate. For students, people between jobs and researchers without funding, no proof needed: CA$10 a day or CA$100 a month. If even that is too much, write to us.

Cancel any time. No fixed term and no fee. Cancel a monthly membership yourself from your dashboard, and access runs to the end of the month you paid for.

No tax added. Payment happens after your application is approved.

What we ask of you

  • Safety-oriented work. Your work here aims to reduce risks from AI. Capabilities work without a safety or governance purpose is out of scope, and so is capabilities recruiting.
  • Working norms. Keep it quiet, take calls to the kitchenette or the balcony, clean up after yourself.
  • Confidentiality. Unpublished work, plans and personal information someone shares with you stay between the two of you, unless they agree otherwise.
  • Respect. The code of conduct applies to everyone, at the desks and at events.

Progress review

Members get time at the monthly community progress review to present their work and get feedback.

I am a student or new to the field. Can I join?

Yes, if you spend time on AI safety, for example by taking a course, running a research project, preparing a fellowship application or organizing activities.

Can I host an event?

Members can. Propose events from your dashboard.
